To enhance women representation in strategic planning and decision making SECP has taken an initiative to ensure women representation on the board of directors of listed companies. The Code of Corporate Governance under the new Companies Act 2017 specifies that public interest companies shall have such representation of women directors as specified by the SECP. The act requires listed companies to have at least one woman director within three years.
